Dr. Perry Kocher
Dr. Perry Kocher has been practicing dentistry for twenty-two years. He
graduated from Valley High School in Pinegrove W.V. and received his B.S. in
Biology from West Virginia University
in Morgantown, W.V.
Dr. Kocher attended
the West Virginia University Dental School where he received his Doctorate of
Dental Surgery in 1982. He worked as an associate dentist in Logan, W.V. for one
year. Dr. Kocher moved to Columbia, S.C. in 1983. He is a member of the American
Dental Association and the South Carolina Dental Association. Dr. Kocher has
been training associates in his practice since 1985. He has educated numerous
associate dentists currently practicing in Columbia and surrounding areas of
South Carolina.
Dr. Kocher and his wife, Zivia, have two children, Austin and Alexis. His
hobbies include tennis, gardening, coaching his son for placekicking in
football, and attending all of his children's sporting events. Dr. Kocher is a
member of the Palmetto Church of Christ in Irmo, S.C.
Dr. Michael Sturkie
Dr. Michael Sturkie has been practicing at South Carolina
Dental Center since June 2002. He graduated from Airport High School, West
Columbia, S.C. and has a B.S. in Biology from Newberry College. Dr. Sturkie attended the Medical University
Of South Carolina where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Sturkie is a member of the America Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental
Association, and the Association of General Dentistry. He is also a member of
Transfiguration Lutheran Church.. Dr. Sturkie and his wife Stephanie have one
daughter, Chloe.
He enjoys golf in his free time.
Dr. Larry Frick
Dr. Larry Frick merged his practice in 1992 with the South Carolina Dental
Center during the Providence Hospital expansion. He graduated from Dreher High
School in Columbia, S.C. and attended Clemson University. While at Clemson, Dr.
Frick achieved credits to enter dental school. He received his Doctorate of
Dental Surgery from Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1959.
Dr. Frick is a member of and has served as president of Columbia Dental Society,
S.C. Midlands Dental Study Group, S.C. Academy of Dental Practice
Administration. He is a charter member of Southern Academy of Clinical Nutrition
and Association of Holistic Dental Practice.
Dr. Frick has been an advocate of mercury-free dentistry for over thirty years.
He has utilized the neuro-muscular approach treating occlussal TMJ problems
since it's beginning in 1980.
Dr. Frick and his wife, Marianne, reside in Forest Acres. He has three children,
Larry Jr., Lucia, and Paul. He is the proud grandfather of five. He and Marianne
are avid golfers.
